Unless the bride is wearing a suit or regular business dress, a tuxedo is the best choice for an informal wedding. As long as the bride is choosing a wedding dress, ¾ length or full length with or without a train, a tuxedo is the appropriate compliment to the wedding dress. If the bride is not wearing an everyday dress, then the groom shouldn't be wearing an everyday suit. To achieve an informal look, the groom can really add a lot of flair to his tuxedo style. The groom can wear a black jacket or a white or ivory dinner jacket. Tails would be inappropriate for achieving an informal look. Colored shirts and colorful vest and ties are a great way to make the tuxedo look and feel a little less formal.
